Partners for Plants is a joint program of The Garden Club of America's Conservation and Horticulture committees to monitor and conserve rare plants, restore native habitats, and remove invasive weeds on federal, state, and local public lands. Partners for Plants (P4P) volunteers have partnered with land agencies to conserve a variety of natural open spaces throughout the United States. Since the program's beginning in 1992, the GCA has funded 210 projects with grant funds ranging from $1,000 to $3,000 each. Over the past five years, the GCA has granted $250,000 for P4P. https://www.gcamerica.org/ The Garden Club of Allegheny County (GCAC), is “Talking Trash” to Pittsburgh, PA organizations that have the power to solve the problems caused by the profusion of consumables that pollute land and water. In partnership with Allegheny CleanWays (AC) , eighteen members of GCAC sorted, measured, and catalogued some 6,900 pounds of trash collected from several riverfront and illegal dumpsites. Allegheny CleanWays is using the audit findings to educate the public, and to put pressure on companies, government entities, and NGO’s to make positive environmental changes. In addition, GCAC backed-up its labor with a $10,000 grant to Allegheny CleanWays.
